American Pie, American Pie 2 Great.
There are no other American Pie films that I recognise. I just got wind that there is a new one coming out shortly. Fuck off.
Another film trailer I seen recently was about a gripping crime/thriller where a man stands on the ledge of a skyscraper with no intentions of jumping. Whilst the entire city is looking at him his friends are robbing the building opposite him. Sounds like a great film. The only problem is the title. After a good 3-4 mins of trailer, you are on the edge of your seat…boom “coming soon…man on a ledge” shit film name.
Anyway I’m watching American Pie 47 just to see where the storyline is at so I can watch the new one and know whats going on.

Quite possibly my favourite band of all time.
Short overview of the mass of text bellow. Songs that hit the charts were great. Songs that are pre 1990, oft.
I was having a shuffle moment on iTunes and a lesser known track called ‘Police Helicopter’ came on. It’s from the first album and it’s a wee belter. I then decided to listen to all the albums in order just for a laugh. Here’s my thoughts.
Red Hot Chili Peppers (1984) -
Fast funky verses with short and sharp gang chant chorus sections. Plenty of slow underlying grove.
Freaky Styley (1985) -
Slower than the previous album in the funk speed department with bags more grove. Someone must have got a brass instrument for christmas too as it’s featured in just about every track.
The Uplift Mofo Party Plan (1987) -
The fast funky guitars are back. The grove isn’t as great as the previous two albums. Lots of effects used. The studio must have just bought some rack mounted gear and the engineer thought it sounded amazing.
Mothers Milk (1989) -
Fuck Me.
Massive over driven guitars and the grove from the first album is back. The bass isn’t really the main focus anymore although it’s still a major part.
Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991) -
All the best things from the first four albums mixed together.
The grove of Freaky Styley, Guitar style from the first album with the sound of Mothers Milk.
And of course Under the Bridge.
One Hot Minute (1995) -
Quite depressing. Nominal amount of funk, no grove. Very typical 1995 in terms of guitar work.
Californication (1999) -
To fully understand the greatness of the opening 24 seconds you have to the last few tracks on One Hot Minute, understand that the band are on the brink of falling apart, they are all pretty much junkies and John Frusciante is pretty much 2 more hits away from death, and then put this album on.
The album sounds like Blood Sugar Sex Magik part 2. Loads of funk, plenty of groove and for the first time a bit of depth to the lyrics. It’s a mixture of comeback, joy and happiness and a sprinkle of sadness from the previous few years that could have still been lingering.
The greatest come back off all time.
Last year I wasn’t feeling my normal self. The whole year. I had felt like this previously but only for a day or an hour or two or sometimes a whole week. But the full year I was felling off.
According to the doctor I was suffering from depression. So the natural progression for everyone in this frame of mind is to start popping pills and forget about it. I took a tablet a day for a few months until I woke up…
I have always loved a good conspiracy theory. An unsolved, twisted and confusing story that only a hand full of people could comprehend and even fewer believed. I liked reading them because they were entertaining and although I never fully believed them I always keep an open mind.
I woke up one morning with terrible tooth ache. My front tooth was killing me. I had previous had root treatment work started but never finished and this was it coming back to haunt me. The problem was I was in Poland. One thousand three hundred miles from my dentist. So I went to the nearest dentist taking my wife, Marta, with me as a translator.
One session finished and I was over the moon. No more pain from this devil tooth. However the previous treatment had left my tooth blood stained on the inside and that was now coming though to the surface and was a visible dark patch which was becoming a focal point. I (through my wife’s translations) was asking the dentist about a solution for whitening my tooth and getting the full set clean and polished and then he dropped this bombshell on me.
He said it would be of no benefit to me as I have very weak teeth. He told me that I have consumed too much fluoride and this has damaged the surface of my teeth. No big deal. I’ve never really been to bothered about the whole fluoride good or bad conspiracy but he then said.
“I’m surprised you don’t suffer from mental health issues”
Obviously my response was something along the lines of “I beg your pardon sir”
“With all that mercury in your mouth, I’m surprised you don’t suffer from depression”
Boom. Never met the guy before. Never technically spoke directly to him as he didn’t speak english and he has just solved my entire life without even realising it.
Google - ‘Amalgam Illness’
Once I realised what the cause was I was no longer looking for a cure. I wanted to just remove the problem. So I ditched the tablets and continued my research into mercury poisoning.
But unfortunately it doesn’t stop there. Well for me anyway.
A wise fella once said to me, make sure you are aware of what’s happening. Well wise fella. I’ve never been more aware.
You know what would happen if the government admitted that the mercury in the fillings was in fact dangerous? Oft.
Catch ye.
